While you are fasting it is a good idea to detox. "The Lemonade Diet" is one method of doing that. Pray and ask God if it's for you.
The Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs
also known as The Lemonade Diet or The Lemonade Fast
Purpose:
To dissolve and eliminate toxins and congestion that have formed in any part of the body.
To cleanse the kidneys and the digestive system.
To purify the glands and cells throughout the entire body.
To eliminate all unusable waste and hardened material in the joints and muscles.
To relieve pressure and irritation in the nerves, arteries, and blood vessels.
To build a healthy blood stream.
To keep youth and elasticity regardless of our years.
To purify mind, thoughts and to get in touch with your spirit.
WHEN TO USE IT?
When sickness has developed-for all acute and chronic conditions.
When the digestive system needs a rest and a cleansing.
When overweight has become a problem.
When better assimilation and building of body tissue is needed.
When you need to make an important decision.
When you need to have clear mind and clear thoughts.
When you feel like fasting.
HOW OFTEN?
Follow the diet for a minimum of 10 days or more-up to 40 days and beyond may be safely followed for extremely serious cases. The diet has all the nutrition needed during this time. Three to four times a year will do wonders for keeping the body in a normal healthy conditions. The diet may be undertaken more frequently for serious conditions.
HOW TO MAKE IT?
2 Tablespoons lemon or lime juice (approx. ½ lemon)
2 Tablespoons genuine maple syrup Grade B or C (Not maple flavored sugar syrup)
1/10 Teaspoon cayenne pepper (red pepper) or to taste
Water, medium hot
Combine the juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in a 10 oz. glass and fill with medium hot water. (Cold water may be used if preferred.)
Use fresh (organic) lemons or limes only, never canned lemon or lime juice nor frozen lemonade or frozen juice.
This is not all. You also need to do something for your bowel movements.
Fasting on liquids will, in most people, promote stagnation of feces in the large intestine. (you will loose the need to move bowel.)
One thing suggested is salt water flush.
What is a salt water flush? (SWF)
It is traditinal Ayurveda intestinal and body cleanse.
Prior to Cleanse
If you have problems with constipation, please clean your bowls with a safe herbal laxative (i.e. senna or garcinia) or with enema/colonics, for one or two days before this cleanse.
Salt-Water Flush Recipe
1 quart (1 Liter) Water - boil to tea drinking temperature
2 Level TEASPOONS Natural, Unrefined Sea Salt (no additives)
Juice from a Lime/Lemon - if required to offset the taste
16oz (1/2 Liter) Serving Cup
Alarm Clock - set to sunrise
Salt from a natural source (like natural unrefined sea salt) is better for cleaning the body than refined and iodized salt. Natural unrefined Sea salt (without harmfull additives) is the best choice. Grounded Unrefined Rock Salt can also be used in absence of Unrefined Sea salt.
YES!!! You should drink 1 Quart (1 Liter) in one sitting, every morning, at sunrise.
Are there people who should not follow this diet?
Yes. If you have no at least one bowel movement per day, you need first to get to that point with diet and exercises, before you start fasting. If you are unable to tolerate lemon juice, or you are unable to tolerate maple syrup (chronic severe candidasis), or you are unable to tolerate sea salt, Master Cleanser is not for you!
The only way to find out if you are able to go on this diet is to try it for a day or two, or three. After that time, you will know.

PREPARING SPIRITUALLY
Confess your sins to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness. Forgive all who have offended you and ask forgiveness from those you may have offended (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3-4). Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ and reject the worldly desires that try to hinder you (Romans 12:1-2).
PREPARING PHYSICALLY
If you have health concerns, consult your doctor prior to beginning a fast and explain what you plan to do. This is especially important if you take prescription medications or have a chronic ailment. Some people should never fast without professional supervision.
HOW TO BEGIN
Start with a clear goal. Why are you fasting? Do you need direction, healing, restoration of marriage or family issues? Are you facing financial difficulties? Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. Pray daily and read the Bible.
DECIDING WHAT TO FAST
What you fast is up to you. It may be a full fast in which you only drink liquids, or you may desire to fast like Daniel, who abstained from sweets and meats, and drank only water. You could even fast watching television or something else that would be a sacrifice from your normal activities. Remember to replace that time with prayer and Bible study.
DECIDING HOW LONG
You may fast as long as you like. Most people can easily fast from one to three days, but you may feel the grace to go longer, even as much as 21 to 40 days. Use wisdom and pray for guidance. Beginners are advised to start slow.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you fast, your body detoxifies, eliminating toxins from your system. This can cause mild discomfort such as headaches and irritability during withdrawal from caffeine and sugars. And naturally, you will have hunger pains. Limit your activity, and exercise moderately. Take time to rest. Fasting brings about miraculous results. You are following Jesus' example when you fast. Spend time listening to praise and worship. Pray as often as you can throughout the day. Get away from the normal distractions as much as possible and keep your heart and mind set on seeking God's face.
HOW TO END
Don't overeat when the time comes to end your fast. Begin eating solid foods gradually and eat smaller portions or snacks.
Most of the fasts mentioned in the Bible were public fasts initiated by the priests; Jesus gave us the model for private fasts in Matthew 6:16-18; 9:14-15. Whether you are beginning a private fast, or fasting corporately as we do each year at Free Chapel, I believe you will find these tips helpful.
