God's Rules

We can be sure that we know God if we obey His commands.

1 John 2:3

The Bible is God's letter to you and in it He tells you all kinds of things!  God tells you he wants you to obey your mom and dad, that He wants you to be fair, honest, and kind.  When God tells us to do something in the bible it is called a "command".   You may have heard about "The 10 Commandments", they are God's rules.  When a man asked Jesus what the greatest rule was, He said,  to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37 & 39).  Your neighbor is everyone around you.  As you read the Bible, you will find out what He has to say to you and how He wants you to behave.  Then it is up to YOU to choose to do what God said.  When we obey His Word we please God.  That means we make Him happy!  When you make God happy, you will make your parents happy and you will be happy too!  You can find out all He has to say to you by reading the Bible.

Pray this and ask God to help you do what He wants you to do:

Dear Lord, You said in Your Word to love You with all my heart and all my soul and all my strength and to love my neighbor as myself.  Help me to do that today even when it's hard.  Amen.

Quote of the Day
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear-not absence of fear. Except a creature be part coward it is not a compliment to say it is brave.
